Are you as
sick of the Republican National Convention as I am? How about the political
ads? Todd Akin? Oh, and the weird weather? The heat? The impending full moon? People in the world acting
bat-shit crazy? The suddenly having to get up before dawn to get the kids to
school? The Mayan doomsday right around the corner?
Yeah, I am
too. I needed a freaking laugh. Or five. And then, once I had them, I thought I
might share them with you, because, hey, it’s good to share, right?
Right. And
how many commas can Sarah fit in one sentence? A lot.
The top five
things that have made me laugh this week, and might make you laugh as well:
3.
The
following picture (since I have a fifteen year old and all) from Facebook:

| I plan on doing the same damn thing. |
4.
This tweet,
introducing new terminology I will use ALL THE TIME NOW.
5.
My favorite
pin of the week:

| It's so very true. |
Now I feel
better, and I bet you do, too! At least I hope you do. I know the impending
Mayan doomsday has been weighing on you and all.
Share something that made you
laugh right on out of your bad mood…

The havoc Isaac wreaked and continues to wreak upon the Gulf Coast is terrible. But there was something that made me laugh from it: all those meteorologists getting pummeled by the wind and rain for no other reason than our enjoyment. It's not like we can hear what they're saying. It was an instant turn from "Aww that's sad...Ha ha ha, look at those dumb clowns standing in ankle deep water getting hit by tree branches."
ReplyDeleteI've thought the very same thing. We didn't need to see Cantore standing out there to know there's a hurricane in New Orleans. But we did need to see him brace himself against a fire hydrant in an attempt not to blow away, just to say that we did.
