This is the
week where you know that spring has sprung. Not only do I get only 47 hours of
weekend this weekend, but the daffodils are up and blooming, the willow tree
out front is budding (which means we’ll be dealing with its green pollen coating
every surface in the house for the next two weeks) and the temperatures for the
next week are supposed to be in the sixties or seventies. Students are
enrolling in summer and fall classes this week. That’s always another sign that
its spring. Also, everyone (students, staff and faculty alike) are looking
forward to spring break. The semester is halfway over.
And I’ve
been dealing with all of the changes of a household that are predicated by a
changing of the seasons.
Haven’t we
all? Isn’t it amazing that we are still so tied to the seasons, despite
everything that we do in our days that appear to ignore the natural world? Tomorrow,
the daylight will last much longer into the evening and this, inherently, means
that more will be done after work. More work outside. More baseball and soccer
practices.
More
opportunities to grow, expand, change. Even on a blog. Like the new advertising
on the right à.
So, I bring
to you the very first ever weekly wrap-up! To give it a bit of a twist—and make
it a bit different than everything everyone else does—I’m telling you what I
did elsewhere, cool things I read elsewhere, what I was doing last year (which
is the whole point of this blog—reflection on our life) and something we did
this week that I didn’t write about!
So, let’s
get started…
What I did
when I wasn’t here:
I wrote
about how I am not
excited about the new iPad 3. Sorry Apple. Send me one to change my mind!
I also
shared my rules for May-December
Romances.
And came up
with some new nomenclature.
Awesome
things I read on the interwebs:
The Bloggess
starts the Unicorn
Success Club.
We
established that women
aren’t real people.
I found out
that I’m not the only parent out there who wants to see Caillou
and Dexter combined.
What I was
doing this week last year:
Apparently I
was sick and foul-mouthed.
What didn’t
make the blog:
J and I made
these
