Awake.
It’s the
interlude between night and day-
Predawn.
And I tell
myself to go back to sleep
But no.
Just because
I can, I won’t
Rising.
From
underneath my eggplant coverlet and into
Lavender
light.
The purplish
circles beneath my eyes have been
Erased.
It’s not
been exciting or exotic or
Vacation.
It has been
exactly what I needed-
Respite.

Lavender light...what a perfect description for pre dawn! And oh how I wish I could pull myself out of bed at that lovely hour. It really is a lovely hour!! Beautiful poem friend!
