Holiday Loves

Right now, I am in love with the cold weather.
I am in love with sweaters and gloves.
I am love with Christmas shopping- which my husband and I did a little bit of this evening!
I am in love with my Christmas tree, which is finally up and looks magical.
And I am in love with making Christmas cards! I just don’t love sending cards out—so I tend to hand them out at the various holiday get-togethers.

I have been making cards for awhile, now—and it’s all thanks to Kathy, who enabled my addiction when she invited me to a stamping party and helped me plan my son’s birthday invitations oh so many years ago…

This is whatI will be giving out this year!

Cards are as simple or as complicated as you want them to be. The only things you really need are: some high-quality paper, a good paper-cutter, and an awesome idea. As for paper, embellishments, and even tools (like that paper cutter), I watch for coupons and sales at the craft stores in the area—usually found in the Sunday paper. Usually, I only pay half of the regular price. Some of the best times I’ve ever had are when fellow card-makers get together; we all contribute $15 for snacks and supplies, and we spend the night making projects and reconnecting with one another!

Christmas card season, however, well…There are so many fun things out there to do when it comes to the holidays and card-giving, it’s like my birthday, and our anniversary, and, well, Christmas all wrapped up into one!

I love making cards for others, and for myself. I’ve never attempted to sell them on Etsy, or anything like that, because I really only make cards when the spirit moves me, and I am afraid it just wouldn’t be fun anymore if I had to meet deadlines, and make dozens of trips to the post office to ship them out.

Giveaway cards: 20 small lavendar cards with snowflakes, snowman, matching ribbon on the tag, and the words, "Happy Holidays" stamped inside.
I am ready to make ONE trip to the post office, however! I am doing my first-ever giveaway this week—and this set of cards (20) are the giveaway! They are small, (about 3” by 3”) come with cream colored envelopes, and are perfect for attaching to gifts or handing out at holiday parties.

To enter to win the cards, there are no gimmicky tricks—just comment on this blog post. Tell your friends to comment on this blog post for their chance to win! On Sunday, December 5th, I will choose the winner using a number randomizer, and announce the winner. Yes, I’m that dork—the one who has a randomizer handy…

Good luck on my giveaway—and if you ever want to talk card-making, just let me know!
