My Christmas Present-- Updated w/pictures

For some reason, this year, I am really excited for Christmas. I have big plans for Christmas this year. I have plans to share Christmas ideas on this blog. I even plan to have a giveaway or two soon! I have had Christmas on the brain for the past several weeks, and I have been pushing back down inside me, trying to keep my trap shut because:

1) It wasn’t even Halloween yet then, and
2) It is not even Thanksgiving yet, now.

But I have already started making Christmas cards. More on that later.

This year, J and I decided to really, really splurge on ourselves. It makes up for all of those years where we didn’t buy each other presents. It also is functional—new cookware. It’s necessary, too. Our pots and pans were inherited during the early part of our marriage, and the feeding of the Teflon to the children had gone on long enough.

It was time to go stainless steel, lifetime warranty, can actually put the pan in the oven, just like on all of those cooking shows!

Couple that with the fact that the set went on sale for 45% off today, and well, we decided we couldn’t wait!

J called me at work today--
J: It’s here.
Me: Oh, gosh, hon, you cannot even imagine how excited I am!
J: I bet I could! The box—it is on the table. Unopened. Just sitting there. Do we wrap it up? Wait, and put it under the tree? Take it all out and throw away the old? Get it washed and ready for dinner tonight?
Me: Oh. Um. I don’t know! I don’t know! What should we do? Wait—just wait until I get home, and we will decide then.
J: That’s going to be really difficult.
Me: I know. Just wait for me to get home!

Right now, I am enjoying looking at each piece, lovingly caressing it, imagining that I might actually cook more often now that we have real, grown-up cookware. I promise to update with pictures, soon.

Just give me a minute to bask, if you will...

Ant was more interested in playing with the boxes...and K saw some opportunities as well...
