Ant seems to be following the footsteps of his father.
Not that this surprises me. Plus, the seven year old crowd is always a fun crowd to begin with. Old enough for the occasional abstract thought to scare the crap out of you, young enough to think the house is alive and that Disney really is magic!
In the bonus room-
Ant: Mom! K is watching American Idol! He is watching it! (In a singsong voice now) K watches American Idol! K likes watching American Idol!
K: Mom, I am so not watching American Idol! It was a commercial.
In the car-
Ever heard that Shakira song where the guy sings in Spanish? And then she says something like, “when you talk like that, you make you woman go mad”?
Ant: Mom, I would be mad too! I have no idea what that guy is SAYING!
In the bedroom-
Me: Ant, are you in bed? It’s bedtime!
Ant: YES!
Me: Ant, I can see you, and you are not in bed!
Ant: Yes, I am. You’re getting old, Mom. (As if he is hypnotizing me)Your eyesight is failing you!
In the car again-
Ant: Mom, when can I get a cell phone?
Me: Well, it’s going to be a few years.
Ant: What? I can’t wait that long!
Me: Of course you can. Why do you think you need a cell phone now?
Ant: Well, I was really wondering if you can make your own ring tones.
Me: I’ve never done it, but I’m sure you can, somehow.
Ant: Good, I want to make a ringtone for K. I’m going to sing “K likes watching American Idol” over and over again, and then when he calls me, that is what it will play!
